2021 Mazda CX-9 vs 2021 Buick Enclave

Santa Maria drivers often want a midsize SUV for the right blend of safety, comfort, technology, and power. The 2021 Buick Enclave claims to be able to do all of these well. However, the 2021 Mazda CX-9 does it better.

The Mazda CX-9 is More Powerful

Power is always a boon in an SUV around San Luis Obispo. The Buick Enclave answers this call with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out 266 pound-feet of torque. That's a decent number and decent power to get you around town. The Mazda CX-9 brings a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 310 pound-feet of torque. That is a significant boost over the Buick Enclave. Not only does that give drivers more power to tackle the road, but it provides more versatility and ample performance overall. For example, it gives a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. Take the Mazda CX-9 out for a trip to the lake, and bring your boat too.

The Mazda CX-9 Has More Entertainment Features

Intuitive infotainment systems are must-haves in SUVs near Lompoc. While the Buick Enclave does come with a Wi-Fi Hotspot standard in its base trim, everything else is optional. Find music features like the AM/FM stereo, HD radio, an MP3 player, and an auxiliary audio input standard in the base Mazda CX-9. Also, find smart device integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, both standard as well. And find a Wi-Fi hotspot standard in this SUV. The Mazda CX-9 simply comes with more upfront, allowing you access to the stations and songs you just can't drive without.

The Mazda CX-9 Adds More Comfort Features

It is no secret that the Buick Enclave has a decent list of comfort and convenience features near Arroyo Grande. Yet, that list does not live up to what the Mazda CX-9 brings to the table. Only the Mazda CX-9 puts standard adaptive cruise control in the base model with optional fog lamps. Take the stress out of your drive and let your SUV adapt to the road ahead of you. What if you find yourself in the middle of a rainstorm? The Mazda CX-9 has you covered with Rain Sensing and Variable Speed Intermittent wipers, two pieces of technology the Buick Enclave simply does not have. Be prepared for anything in the Mazda CX-9.

The Mazda CX-9 is Safety-Focused

Safety is a huge factor in any SUV. While the Buick Enclave comes with a few standard safety features, drivers who are safety conscious will want to turn their attention towards the Mazda CX-9. Discover standard brake assist for those moments when extra assistance is needed. Worried about blind spots? With the blind spot monitor, you can always be alerted when another vehicle or object is in your blind spot. Similarly, stay right in your lane with lane departure warnings and lane-keeping assist. Cross-traffic alerts and auto-leveling headlights round out the Mazda CX-9's list of standard safety features. If you wish to drive a vehicle that puts your safety first, then choose the Mazda CX-9.

Only One SUV Comes Out on Top

The 2021 Mazda CX-9 simply does more and does it better than the 2021 Buick Enclave. Discover more of what you love and what you need in the Mazda CX-9, and start planning your future road trips around Nipomo or Grover Beach today. Want to learn more about this SUV? Schedule a test drive to see it in person. A test drive puts you right behind the wheel to see how it all drives. Do you have other questions? Feel free to send us your questions. Are You Excited for the Upcoming 2022 Mazda MX-30? You Should Be

If you've been waiting for an electric vehicle from Mazda, your wait is nearly over, and if you haven't, you'll want to see what the Mazda MX-30 is bringing to the table. There are a lot of fun new design ideas that Mazda is using in this SUV, and we can't wait to tell you all about them at Santa Maria Mazda.

The First All-Electric Model from Mazda

The Mazda MX-30 has a lot going for it. Its electric motor provides 144 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque off of a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. When you're at a DC fast-charging station, you'll be able to go from a 20%-full battery to 80% in about 36 minutes, allowing you to get back on the road quick.

You can expect the same terrific ride and safety that comes with every Mazda around Nipomo when you get your hands on a Mazda MX-30. It will come with the latest technology in i-Activsense, including new detection technology for monitoring the curb, and not just the lane markings, for Lane Keep Assist.

This new electric SUV will be available here in California this fall, and Mazda plans to introduce more electrified models to the San Luis Obispo area soon. A plug-in hybrid for larger platforms and a traditional hybrid for a new Mazda crossover are in the works.

Innovative Design

With new internals comes a chance to redesign some things about the Mazda MX-30. Though very similar to the Mazda CX-3 at first glance, this EV was designed with a new direction in mind to match the modern lifestyle.

One of the most striking design choices you'll notice are the freestyle doors. Both the front and back doors open away from the center, allowing you to get a wide-open cabin. You'll not only have an easier time getting in and out as you need to, but you'll also be able to sit in your car without feeling disconnected from the beautiful outdoors of Grover Beach. Mazda's hope is that you'll find new and creative ways to make this car truly your own.

Open Design and Responsible Materials

Electric vehicles represent an eco-friendly and environmentally minded future, so Mazda has taken steps to include those ideals in the very design of the cabin. Across the interior, you'll find elements that evoke the image of floating, from the island gear shift to the light center armrest. These airy motifs communicate the responsibility every one of us has to ensure our children and their children can breathe clean air around Arroyo Grande for generations to come.

Several of the materials used in the interior are recycled from waste products or made from low-impact and sustainable sources. The door trim is made from recycled plastic bottles, giving it a fibrous quality that continues that theme of air. The Heritage Cork in the console tray is harvested from the bark of trees without felling. You'll find these sorts of responsible materials everywhere you look in the Mazda MX-30.

Plans for a Plug-In Hybrid Variant

If you're hoping for a hybrid variant of this model for your Lompoc drives, you're in luck. Although we don't know much, Mazda has confirmed that a PHEV variant of the Mazda MX-30 will be coming at some point. It will use a rotary generator, but only to charge the battery. This gives you an extended range with a surprisingly quiet gas engine and consistent performance. Keep an eye on this space to hear more about when the Mazda MX-30 plug-in hybrid will be available.

Pickup Your Mazda MX-30 This Fall in Santa Maria

It won't be long before you can get one of these electric SUVs for yourself. We'll be sure to get them in stock as soon as we can, so keep an eye on our inventory at Santa Maria Mazda! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We look forward to letting you test drive the upcoming 2022 Mazda MX-30!

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Awards the Top Safety Pick+ Award to Every Tested Mazda

We can say how committed Mazda is to your safety around Arroyo Grande all we like at Santa Maria Mazda, but it will never have the same weight as the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) saying it. Every year, the IIHS gives out two sets of awards for the safest models of the year: Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+. For the second year in a row, every single Mazda vehicle the IIHS tested won a Top Safety Pick+ award.

What Does it Take to Win the Top Safety Pick+ Award?

In order to win either award, the car must receive good ratings in six crashworthiness tests: driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint.

To win just a Top Safety Pick award, the model must have front crash prevention driver-assist technology available with an advanced or superior rating for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian. It must also have acceptable or good headlights available.

To win a Top Safety Pick+ award, however, these features must be standard, and that’s exactly what Mazda has done across its lineup. The only 2021 models in the lineup that didn't win this award are the Mazda MX-5 Miata and Mazda MX-5 Miata RF sports cars, which the IIHS did not test.

Mazda's Commitment to You

Mazda continually improves and advances its safety technology to be the best that it can be and still be standard in every model. Mazda's i-Activsense covers all sorts of amazing technologies like its Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection, which allowed Mazda models to receive superior ratings on vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention, and several also received superior ratings for vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention.

This system also includes High Beam Control and Adaptive Front-Lighting System. These systems help you by turning your high beams on and off depending on the surrounding traffic conditions in San Luis Obispo and turn the headlights to provide extra light around curves. You'll find LED projector headlights on every Mazda model, giving you high-quality lighting on Lompoc roads.

More Amazing Driver-Assist Technology for Safe Drives Around Grover Beach

Mazda doesn't just have the features the IIHS looks for. Each model also includes Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The first part of this feature alerts you if there is a car in your blind spot, preventing you from accidentally merging into the path of another vehicle. The second part will alert you if you're backing out of a Nipomo parking space or in a similar scenario and a car is crossing your path. That way, you can be alert to dangers even when you can't see them.

Many Mazda models also include Driver Attention Alert. When you are driving above 40 mph, the system learns your driving patterns. It watches you inputs and how the vehicle moves to establish a baseline. Then if it ever detects your behavior drifting from the learned data in a way that suggests you may be losing concentration or focus, it will warn you and suggest you take a break with a chime and a notification in the Multi-Information Display.

Enjoy Some of the Safest Models of 2021 in Santa Maria

We have a variety of incredible models for you at Santa Maria Mazda. Whether you want a sedan, hatchback or any size of SUV, we'll be happy to provide you with an incredible model with the latest safety features. We'll be happy to help with any questions or concerns you have, so don't hesitate to contact us!

The powertrain of the Mazda CX-30 may not rival many sports cars, but even this mild-mannered engine supersedes the most powerful engine available on the Buick Encore GX. The standard SKYACTIV® propulsion system of the CX-30 generates 186-horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, versus the 155-horsepower and 174 pound-feet of the Buick Encore GX's inline three-cylinder engine. Overall, the Mazda CX-30 offers the driver more control and more precise handling than the drive of the Encore GX.

The CX-30 is also an excellent choice for commuters and road trip enthusiasts in Grover Beach. This subcompact SUV's standard performance allows it to travel up to 31 mpg on the highway, whereas the Buick Encore GX falls short, traveling 29 mpg on the highway. Buick models, especially SUVs, are generally not well-known for their fuel economy.

2021 CX-30 vs Encore GX: Features

Despite Buick's status as a "luxury brand," the Encore GX falls a bit short in terms of standard features available on all trims. This SUV offers various conveniences, but many of these must be added on with the purchasing of higher trim levels or additional upgrade packages. Aside from its many standard safety features, the Mazda CX-30 features a more luxurious and high-quality interior. Standard features include remote engine start through Mazda Connected Services, LED brake lights, and LED headlamps. These features cost extra on the Encore GX, which features more outdated halogen headlamp bulbs.

2021 CX-30 vs Encore GX: Safety

Both of these SUVs share similar safety features to keep Arroyo Grande, CA drivers safe in the event of an accident. Still, the Mazda CX-30 offers a few extra applications to prevent collisions. All CX-30 trims come standard with i-ACTIVSENSE® driver-assist features, including Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane-Keep Assist. These features have equivalents on the Buick Encore GX but cost extra to add to base trim levels.

The Mazda CX-30 offers shoppers near San Luis Obispo a wider variety of standard features for a starting price more than $3,000 lower than the Buick Encore GX.

2021 CX-30 vs Encore GX: Interior

While the Buick Encore GX comes from an established luxury brand, the interior of the Mazda CX-30 earned a bit more praise by critics for its more welcoming nature. The interior of the Mazda CX-30 may fall a bit short on cargo space, but has a lot of comfort for all five passengers. Our Mazda subcompact SUV offers much more interior legroom, hip room, and rear headroom than its top competition from Buick. The CX-30 is also more lightweight overall, giving it a bit of an edge in fuel economy.
