Know What to Do When Your Tire Goes Flat

A flat tire can happen at any time, so it's important to know when to do when it happens to you. Follow these basic tips below and you'll be back on the road in no time.

Firstly, be sure to have the basic necessities for changing a tire in your vehicle at all times. This would include a car jack, warning devices (like flares and cones), a lug wrench, flashlight, tire tools, and a spare tire. Secondly, always try to stop or park in a safe location, turn your car completely off, and engage the parking brake. Thirdly, get out all of your tools and loosen the lug nuts. Only loosen them slightly at first, then jack up your car. After lifting the car, completely remove lug nuts and wheel. Lastly, replace your tire with the spare and always secure lug nuts as tight as you can.

After you've replaced the flat tire, be sure to stop in to see us at Santa Maria Mazda for all of your tire questions and needs!
